Steps:

Problem: The Axis camera cannot connect to the network or is not visible in the Axis Camera Management software.

Steps:

  1. Check the physical connections:
    • Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to the camera and the switch or router.
    • Verify that the network cable and power adapter (if not using PoE) are functional.
  2. Ensure the camera is powered on:
    • Check the camera's status light. A green LED typically indicates power.
  3. Search for the camera IP address:
    • Use the Axis IP Utility to locate the camera on the network.
    • If it doesn't appear, ensure your computer is on the same subnet.
  4. Perform a camera reset:
    • Press and hold the reset button on the camera for 15-30 seconds (refer to the camera manual for the exact time).
  5. Verify network settings:
    • Log into the router or switch and ensure the device is receiving an IP address via DHCP.
  6. Contact IT or Axis support: If the camera remains offline, escalate the issue with detailed error logs.
